Group of 150 attempts forced entry into the United States near San Diego….

A group of approximately 150 people assaulted Border Patrol agents with rocks and bottles as they tried to cross into the U.S. from Mexico illegally, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The incident occurred in the Tijuana River channel this past Sunday, near the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

The crowd was ordered to halt by Border Patrol agents but continued their march into the United States, unfazed as the Border Patrol fired a PepperBall to try to deter their illegal entry.

Said Border Patrol representative Gabriel Pacheco: “They had their phones out so this group was out to spark an incident. That’s what they wanted to do, “ Had cooler heads not prevailed it could have ended much worse.”

Agents were outnumbered, dodging rocks and bottles. The group became increasingly disobedient as more agents responded to the scene. Officials reported that one agent was hit in the head with a full water bottle.

The agents eventually forced the crowd to retreat back to the Mexican side of the border. No arrests were made.

I have to wonder if this was a coordinated test by the illegals to see how the Border Patrol would react to a large group attempting a forced entry into the United States.
