ISIS or ISIL? There is a BIG difference!
By Thomas Madison
I posted this peculiarity last week. It has become increasingly conspicuous, annoying even, that while the rest of the world refers to the cockroaches beheading innocent people, including children, across Syria and Iraq, as ISIS, or IS, King Hussein, and the rest of his administration insist on referring to the lice-ridden scumbags as ISIL.
“Tomaytoes/tomahtoes?” Hmmmmmm, I don’t think so. If you look closely at the literal, geographical difference between the two acronyms, it appears that there is much more to the story.
ISIS is an acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, which includes only territory within the clear borders of those two sovereign countries. ISIL is an acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
The “Levant” includes Israel.
Ostensibly, anyone referring to this nest of rats as ISIL, and only as ISIL, while the rest of the civilized world refers to them as ISIS, is denying the existence of Israel, a point much harder to support had not that talking point made its way to every official mouthpiece of every agency and department within the federal government.
From retired Army captain Terry Hestilow:
From Gabe Zolna:
Video from September 2, 2014 – State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki, being cornered by James Rosen of Fox News. She refers to the Islamist cockroaches only once. That one time (1:06 mark) she refers to them as ISIL.
Reblogged this on Centinel2012 and commented:
The Levant includes a lot more than just Israel. But if the administration uses this acronym then it gives credibility to the use of the words ISIL which must mean they agree with the concept. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levant

Certainly NOT creating controversy where there is none. Where did the video say that the origin of the term “Levant” was not French? Regardless of its popular Islamic connotation, the Levant does, in fact, include Israel, which is where the term largely differs from ISIS, which was my point, and the point of many others.
Obama uses the term ISIL exclusively, as I now see his entire administration does. Coincidence? GMAFB! There must be a reason. I am stating my opinion, which happens to agree with many others.
Also, the second “S” in ISIS stands for Syria in the rest of the world, including Wikipedia (“….the Levant region, which includes Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Cyprus and part of southern Turkey.”). The “S” in ISIS and the “L” in ISIL have completely different connotations in the civilized world. That was my point. Thanks for your reply. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq_and_the_Levant

The video states that the word Levant comes from the Arabic.
